Apart from these two, there is also the **notification service**, a shared service for sending notifications.
Wondering what a "workspace" is and what it has to do with the Workspaces project? This noun doesn't really exist in the
system today. Right now, when a user requests some processing, it is delivered to them in a special delivery area,
either a widely-accessible directory on Lustre, or to a location where it can be retrieved over the web. At the moment,
there is no "workspace" per se, just these delivery areas which are rather more like loading docks than workspaces.
As the functionality here becomes more robust, we will eventually have to architect, design, and build a "workspace"
concept, which will most likely consist of various resources (disk, compute, memory) allocated to each user. The system
will provide access to these resources to enable processing with data in the user's workspace as well as collaboration
with other users and their data. But this is not currently designed. The processing is where this system is
currently elaborated.
