Updates to support successful "ng test" runs locally

Mark Ferguson requested to merge STT-1454_make_fe_tests_work into main

This MR supports "ng test" running locally, from within the frontend directory, without errors being detected. I will create another branch/MR in an attempt to get this set of tests running as part of the pipeline.
